David Seville was born and lived in New Buckenham, the son of Horace a cobbler. He won a scholarship to Thetford Gramnmar School and eventuially became an architectural draughtsman working in Norwich. A later major project was Norwich’s Castle Mall development. David designed and build his house The Town’s End overlooking the common on the site of a former abattoir. He was a leading early proponent of the village’s football club and was one-time chairman of the New Buckenham Society. He self-published his  memories of the war years in New Buckenham, including that of a mid-air collision between two Flying Fortresses over the village.
